Tracy Shildrick

Dr Tracy Shildrick recently joined the sociology department at Newcastle University having previously held a Chair in Sociology and Social Policy at University of Leeds. Her research focusses on youth transitions to adulthood and has a particular focus on intergenerational inequalities. She has undertaken many years of in-depth research with people living in deprived neighbourhoods in Teesside and in Glasgow and her co-authored book, 'Poverty and Insecurity: Life in low pay no pay Britain' won the British Academy Peter Townsend prize in 2013.
