Frank Murray

Prof Frank Murray is Foundation Chairman of Alcohol Health Alliance Ireland (AHAI). He is immediate Past-President of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI) and Chairman of RCPI Alcohol Policy Group. He is a Consultant Hepatologist/Gastroenterologist in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, and was recently appointed Director of National Doctors Training and Planning in Ireland. He graduated in Medicine in Dublin, and trained in Gastroenterology in Dublin, Boston and Nottingham before taking up a Consultant post in Dundee, Scotland and subsequently in Dublin. He has played a leading role in Alcohol Advocacy in Ireland, where AHAI and RCPI have played leading roles in highlighting alcohol harms and supporting the introduction of evidence-based policies to reduce Alcohol Health Harm. He has made many appearances on Irish media. He has been an active researcher and published over 140 research papers, mainly in Gastroenterology.
